Design Magic

Reading through the March issue of WIRED, I was mezmerized by the article on Thomas Heatherwick. His interdisciplinary mash-ups featured there, and more extensively on his website, are magical. Take a look at how his townsquare design work makes the very cobblestones appear to peel open, revealing a mysterious glowing world beneath. The posts of the lamps break through the dark, rough surface like an Xbox 360 logo in living form, underlit by a subterranean red glow.

I would highly recommend a visit to his site to take a look at the gallery for fresh inspiration and motivation for your next design project, whether that involves creating and building something or designing organizational structures and processes. It will deeply stir the inventor and artist in you, mixing things up in your mind that most occupations say should be carefully fenced off. Thanks Thomas. Your show and tell is ragingly good.
