NextD has a great slideshow of the 2007 design gathering in New York. Looks like it would have been a worthwhile event - small enough to actually participate and talk but diverse enought to be stimulating. It's coming up in 2008 - registration is now open. Direct flights between Calgary and New York are now in the $300 return range making access to events in the uber city much easier (cue the applause for WestJet).
